I’m a first generation American. My dad is from China, and my mom is from Sweden. Growing up, they placed an extraordinary emphasis on education. When I graduated from high school it was no big deal because I was going to college. When I graduated from college, I didn’t go to graduation because I was going to go to law school. I did not go to law school because I wanted to be a lawyer, I went to law school because it was expected of me to get a postgraduate degree.
